On July 21, 2021, the Supreme People’s Court (the “SPC”) “One-Stop” Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Platform (the “Platform”) was successfully launched. Mr. Lin Zhiwei, Secretary General of Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (the “BAC”), was invited to attend the launch ceremony of the Platform.
To further carry out the Opinions on establishing the Belt and Road International Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanism and Institutions jointly released by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the SPC established its first specialized international commercial court in Shenzhen, and the second one in Xi'an, and set up its International Commercial Expert Committee and the “One-Stop” Platform, seamlessly connecting litigation, mediation and arbitration.
Five international commercial arbitration institutions and two international commercial mediation institutions are among the first group of member institutions of the Platform, including China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, China Maritime Arbitration Commission, the BAC, Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission / Shanghai International Arbitration Center, Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Mediation Center, Shanghai Economic and Commercial Mediation Center. The Platform invited members of the International Commercial Expert Committee to join as mediators, providing convenient, efficient, and cost-effective dispute resolution services.
The Platform can be accessed either through the website of China International Commercial Court via computer, or from the Mini-program “China Mobile Court” on WeChat. Domestic and foreign parties can have litigation or mediation by accessing the Platform either via their computers or using their cellphones according to their specific environments and conditions. The Platform has both Chinese and English versions, facilitating foreign parties to use various functions thereof. It also provides convenience to parties to have legal searches and ascertain foreign laws, as the SPC’s Foreign Law Ascertainment Platform is available for Parties from the Platform.
As one of the first group of member institutions of the Platform, the BAC will continue to work with the SPC International Commercial Court to build the Platform, providing qualified and efficient diversified dispute resolution services to domestic and foreign parties.
