2. On June 21, 2011, “Overseas Investment and Operation Legal Risk Management” Forum jointly organized by China Group Companies Association and BAC was successfully held in BAC and the experts from nearly 20 companies and relevant institutions including state-owned companies, transnational corporations, administrative authorities and law firms were invited to participate in the Forum and discussed on “improving the mechanism on overseas investment and operation legal risk management”. Besides, more than 100 councils in state-owned companies and foreign-owned corporations attended this forum.

3. A 14-member Singapore Legal Delegation, led by permanent secretary of Ministry of Law of the Republic of Singapore Mr. Pang Kin Keon, came to visit BAC on June 28, 2011.

4. The salon themed as “Discussions on the Plight Faced by Chinese Companies in International Arbitration and How to Reverse such Plight” was successfully held in BAC. On June 30, 2011, 2011 6th arbitrator salon (76 in total) was successfully held and had invited Professor Philip Yang(Yang Liangyi), the famous Hong Kong scholar and former chairman of Hong Kong International Arbitration Commission to be the guest speaker of this salon, which had attracted hundreds of people from all circles including BAC’s arbitrators, lawyers, corporate legal consultants and scholars from colleges and universities etc. to attend.

5. On July 7, 2011, eight new secretaries of BAC, led by Division Chief, Chen Cong, held one-day communication event with the judges of Third Civil Court, Beijing Second Intermediate People’s Court, with the purpose of intensifying the communications and learning between BAC’s secretaries and the judges.

6. The fourth session of Asia-Pacific Arbitration Commissions was grandly held in Kuala Lumpur. In chairman group meeting held on July 8, with the unanimous consent of chairman group, Secretary-General of BAC, Wang Hongsong was elected as the vice chairman of Asia-pacific arbitration commission.

7. On July 18, 2011, Malaysian legal delegation, led by Mr. Tan Sri James Foong, chairman of organizing committee of 5th “China-ASEAN Top Forum Legal Cooperation and Development” and Lord Chancellor of Federal Court of Malaysia came to visit BAC.

8. The salon themed as “Chinese Juridical Practice on Interest Disputes among Shareholders” was successfully held in BAC. On July 28, 2011, 7th arbitrator salon in 2011 (77 in total) was successfully held. Mr. Deng Feng, the associate professor of Law School, Peking University and BAC’s arbitrator was the main speaker and Professor Su Haopeng, the professor of University of International Business and Economics and BAC’s arbitrator was the host of this salon.

9. BAC had held the arbitration juridical supervision communication meeting with Beijing Second Intermediate People’s Court. On July 29, 2011, the presiding judge of Third Civil Court of Beijing Second Intermediate People’s Court, Li Yanhong and assistant Yang Jing, the presiding judges of collegial panels held one-day communication event with the general secretary Wang Hongsong and BAC’s secretaries.

10 To further regulate BAC’s official stamp management, with the approval of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, BAC changed the official stamp of “Beijing Arbitration Commission” and “Special Seal of Case Acceptance of Beijing Arbitration Commission” as of August 15, 2011, and start to use “Special Seal of Case Management of Beijing Arbitration Commission”.

11. On August 11, 2011, the symposium on “Joint Efforts towards a Fair and Efficient Disputes Settlement Platform” jointly organized by Beijing Lawyers Association and BAC was successfully held. More than 90 participants including the directors, associate directors, general secretaries, and senior lawyers from ten professional committee of Beijing Lawyers Association had attended the symposium.
