1. The BAC Spring Festival Tea Party Was a Success
On the morning of January 10, 2012, more than 180 arbitrators of the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) attended the commission’s tea party for the Spring Festival of 2012. Che Pizhao, a member of the BAC, hosted the party, and Jiang Ping, Chairman of the BAC, attended the party and gave the Spring Festival greetings. Yang Jingyu, former Chairman of the Law Committee of the National People’s Congress, and Jia Dongming, Vice Director of the Office for Civil Law of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, also attended the party.

2. The First Salon Meeting in 2012 (83 Meetings in Total) Successfully Concluded
The BAC’s first arbitrators’ salon meeting (83 meetings in total) was held in the international conference hall on the afternoon of February 23, 2012. Mr. Zhao Xudong, an arbitrator of the BAC, a Cheung Kong scholar specially hired by China’s Ministry of Education, and a professor at China University of Political Science and Law, gave a lecture at the meeting. Ms. Zhang Lixia, an arbitrator of the BAC, the Director of the Arbitration Law Committee of Beijing Lawyers Association, the Vice Secretary of China Academy of Arbitration Law, one of the founding partners of China Trade & Silicon Valley Law Firm, hosted the meeting. The topic of this meeting was “the Application of Law in Deciding Disputes over Equity Transfer.”

3.The Expert Seminar on “the Prospect and Challenges of the Use of Natural Gas in China’s Transportation Sector” Was Held at the BAC
On March 1, 2012, Beijing Energy Club held an expert seminar on “the Prospect and Challenges of the Use of Natural Gas in China’s Transportation Sector” at the BAC. The seminar included special guests, Professor Hua Ben, Director of the Natural Gas Unitization Center of South China University of Technology, and Professor Li Yong, General Manager of Shenzhen GUOJU (China) Automobile Remanufacturing Co., Ltd., who introduced differing perspectives on the timing, techniques, market prospect, and practical applications of the large scale use of natural gas in China’s vehicle and vessel sectors, as well as the challenges facing it.
