On January 24 2019, a delegation led by Mr. Edwin Tong, Singapore Senior Minister of State for Law and Health, and Mr. Stanley Loh, Singaporean Ambassador in China, paid a visit to the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (the “BAC”). Mr. Lin Zhiwei, Secretary General of the BAC, and Dr. Chen Fuyong, Deputy Secretary General of the BAC, received the delegation and had in-depth exchanges with the delegation.

Mr. Lin Zhiwei warmly welcomed Mr. Edwin Tong and Mr. Stanley Loh. He reviewed the friendly experience between the BAC and the Singapore Ministry of Law and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and Singapore International Mediation Centre, and confirmed that the BAC would well keep its exchange and cooperation with its Singaporean partners. Mr. Tong said that his visit was meant to further strengthen the exchange with the BAC and to have an in-depth understanding of the BAC’s experience in its highly efficient arbitration case management, and expected to build the Asia-oriented dispute resolution system jointly with the BAC. Dr. Chen Fuyong presented an introduction of the BAC’s arbitration caseload in recent years, and shared the BAC’s practice in case management and the administration of arbitrators as well as the history and achievements of the BAC’s internationalization progress.

Mr. Tong and Mr. Loh were accompanied by Ms. Shi Xiaohui, Deputy Director of Dept. of Law and Commerce of Singapore Ministry of Law, Mr. Zheng Yulin, Special Assistant on Law of Senior Minister of State and Senior Assistant Director of Dept. of Policy Consultation of Singapore Ministry of Law, Ms. Luo Shuling, Assistant Director of Dept. of Enterprise Communication of Singapore Ministry of Law, Ms. Guo Xueting and Mr. Bai Zhihong, First Secretaries on Politics of Singapore Embassy in China. Mr. Zhang Haoliang, Director of the BAC Business Development/International Case Division, Ms. Zhang Xi and Mr. Liu Wenpeng, Case Managers of the BAC Business Development/International Case Division, attended the reception and meeting.
