Application as an Arbitrator

To be an arbitrator of the Beijing Arbitration Commission, you shall meet one of the following conditions (Article 13 of the Arbitration Law of China):

1.
To have been engaged in arbitration work for at least eight years;
2.
To have been as a lawyer for at least eight years;
3.
To have served as a judge for at least eight years;
4.
To have been engaged in legal research or legal education, possessing a senior professional title; or
5.
To have acquired the knowledge of law, engaged in the professional work in the field of economy and trade, etc. possessing a senior professional title or have an equivalent professional level.

Meanwhile, you should abide by the Ethical Standard of Arbitrators of the BACand meet the requirements set forth in Administrative Measures for the Engagement of Arbitrators.

If you are interested in conducting arbitration in China and promise to maintain the honour of arbitrator so as to maintain the parties and the public reliance upon arbitration. All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
